Use BNG Co-Ord’s SU 97037 54341 …where you will arrive at the farm lane entrance
(Two big white signposts containing house names at either side of the lane entrance). Carry on along the lane until you see a direction arrow to our BaseCamp, at BNG 97267 54646.
ONSITE CAMPING FACILITIES
Marquee & tables/Chairs will be set up for marking up your maps etc
Porta-Loos on site!
Plenty of good grass areas for Camping/Tents and parking for Caravans.
We have a 20ft container which is used for cooking breakfast rolls etc
There are a few plug sockets there which can be used for phone charging etc
… NOT CAMPING ‘PLUG-IN’!
ARRIVAL
Arrive after mid-day on Fri’ 22nd Aug’, sign on and collect your ‘Clue-Sheets’.
Make yourself comfortable! Aidy will be on site all day to assist and give advice about navigating and answering any other questions you may have!
BRIEFING will be at 8pm prompt!
Saturday & Sunday… First Riders away 9am (7 Hrs Ride time each day)
Lunch stops are compulsory! Each rider must stop for 1 Hour … between 12noon & 2pm).
Lunch stops will be listed on the clue-sheet & are the same for both days!
Nb I’m sure I will be able to arrange a venue for Sun’ eve for awards etc!
Monday … Leave as and when you wish (after breakfast rolls).
THE MAP
The OS Landranger map in use for the ROD is GUILDFORD 186 (1:50,000 Scale)
Try to arm yourself with a GARMIN SAT NAV… We use Garmin BASECAMP to collate and store/transfer waypoint clues to and from! You may require GPX files to be sent to your email/PC, to obtain the clue waypoint coordinates if you are using TOM TOM or other Sat Nav devices! Be aware!
